Communications
Many of the benefits of a corporate responsibility programme flow from effective communications. These benefits may include:
- improved employee involvement
- differentiation from the competition
- enhancing and defending brand reputation
But more pressing, for UK listed companies, is the requirement under the Companies Act 2006 (Section 417) to include within the Operating and Financial Review (OFR) a Business Review in company accounts that covers information about:
- environmental matters (including the impact of the company’s business on the environment)
- the company's employees, and
- social and community issues.
The analysis should use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), where appropriate. Statutory requirements on company reporting of corporate responsibility issues are expected to strengthen at EU level in the medium term.
We help companies to draft the non-financial elements of their Business Review and can collate, analyse and present environmental and social information for use in other printed or on-line reports.
See the Clients page for examples of our input into the content of corporate social responsibility reporting.
